Sean Rush Design Collection

Few elements bring quiet opulence and beauty to a room as this evocative new series of canvases. The Sean Rush Design Collection blurs the lines between framed paintings, ceiling canvases and the tradition of tapestries found throughout the world. Weaving a sophisticated contemporary line with a classically-elegant palette, these canvases become visual havens within a space.

The collection is an on-going group of mixed media works — a continuing exploration and development of works based on a collection of original oil paintings. The paintings are created in the studio and then transferred to a variety of substrates, canvas being used most frequently, with materials such as copper, glass and wood panels also possible. With the base image on the substrate, the piece is worked into with glazes, painting and leafing to produce the desired effects of color, texture and atmosphere.

A range of choices and options allow the artist and the client to communicate on a creative level, resulting in a unique work that suits the environment of the final installation. The possibilities are limited by only imagination and inspiration

Sean Rush, a celebrated interior designer and fine artist, focuses his career on private estates. His integrated vision places architectural design, interior design and fine artwork on equal standing. His proven ability and diversity has been manifest in projects and commissions such as Spottiswoode, a 14,000 square foot Tudor Revival, built by engineer Donald Roebling, great grandson of John Augustus Roebling, engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge; and a landmark home in the estate section of Palm Beach, built by Marion Sims Wyeth, famed architect for Marjorie Merriweather Post’s Mar-A-Lago, now owned by Donald Trump. His creative adventures have taken him from New York to Palm Beach, Florence to Morocco, Paris to Monte Carlo.
